1321+045: A compact steep‐spectrum radio source in a cool‐core galaxy cluster

چکیده

Cluster-central gigahertz peak and compact steep-spectrum (CSS) sources offer an opportunity to study the earliest phases of active galactic nucleus (AGN) feedback, but few have yet been examined in detail. We present results from radio X-ray observations 1321+045, a CSS source 4.4 keV cluster at . The has strongly cooling core, disturbances minor merger may triggered period jet activity which formed 16 kpc lobes ago. However, new very long baseline array (VLBA) imaging shows ∼20 pc on different projected axis, is probably only hundred years old. consider possible histories for system, with either one or two periods activity. While this single system informative, broader youngest cluster-central desirable.

Radio emission of Shakhbazian Compact Galaxy Groups

Three hundred fifty three radio sources from the NRAO VLA Sky Survey (NVSS) (Condon et al. 1998) and the FIRST Survey (White et al. 1997), are detected in the areas of 179 Shakhbazian Compact Groups (ShCGs) of galaxies. Ninety three of them are identified with galaxies in 74 ShCGs. Six radio sources have complex structure. The radio spectra of 22 sources are determined. Radio luminosities of ga...

Galaxy Threshing and Ultra-Compact Dwarfs in the Fornax Cluster

We have discovered a new type of galaxy in the Fornax Cluster: “ultracompact” dwarfs (UCDs). The UCDs are unresolved in ground-based imaging and have spectra typical of old stellar systems. Although the UCDs resemble overgrown globular clusters, based on VLT UVES echelle spectroscopy, they appear to be dynamically distinct systems with higher internal velocity dispersions and M/L ratios for a g...

Discovery of a Giant Radio Halo in a New Planck Galaxy Cluster Plckg171.9-40.7

We report the discovery of a giant radio halo in a new, hot, X-ray luminous galaxy cluster recently found by Planck, PLCKG171.9-40.7. The radio halo was found using Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope observations at 235 MHz and 610 MHz, and in the 1.4 GHz data from a NRAO Very Large Array Sky Survey pointing that we have reanalyzed. The diffuse radio emission is coincident with the cluster X-ray e...

A&a Manuscript No. a Compact Radio Component in 4c41.17 at Z=3.8: a Massive Clump in a Forming Galaxy?

We present the results of a study of the cen-tiarcsecond radio structure at wavelength of 18 cm in the high-redshift galaxy associated with the radio source 4C41.17 (z = 3:8). We have detected a component of size not more than 15 mas (' 65 pc, H o = 75 km s ?1 Mpc ?1 , q o = 0:5) at a distance of ' 2:9 kpc from the nucleus of the galaxy which accounts for 30% of the ux density of the previously...

A search for ultra-compact dwarf galaxies in the Centaurus galaxy cluster

Aims. Our aim is to extend the investigations of ultra-compact dwarf galaxies (UCD) beyond the well studied Fornax and Virgo clusters. Methods. We measured spectroscopic redshifts of about 400 compact object candidates with 19.2 < V < 22.4 mag in the central region of the Centaurus galaxy cluster (d=43Mpc), using 3 pointings with VIMOS@VLT. The luminosity range of the candidates covers the brig...
